SpaceUp is a project financed by the EU Framework programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020), aiming at giving Europe’s innovative start-ups in the space sector the opportunity to scale up and become world leading companies.
SpaceUp, with 10 consortium members from 5 different European countries and two Europe-wide business organisations, will work together to promote and encourage technology transfer, networking, outreach and matchmaking with business angels, crowd funders, investors, human resource specialists and CEOs from corporates.
The role of Gi Group as Human Resources leader globally, will be to advice start ups on their HR needs, including but not limited to recruitment and retention of qualified staff.
In addition to Gi Group, under the coordination of the Aviaspace cluster in Bremen, eight partners will be joining the project activities: the European Trade Association for Business Angels, IBS Consulting, the Seed Funds and the Early Stage Market Players (EBAN), the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (Fraunhofer IPK), the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), the European Panel of Space SME Associations (SME4SPACE), the crowdfunding platform 200Crowd, the Hypatia Research Consortium and Lazio Innova.
Throughout the project lifetime, 6 Space Academies will take place in various locations in Europe, networking new space tech entrepreneurs with potential partners.
The first Space Academy will take place in Helsinki, Finland 3-4 June 2019.
